Just a few fun things from around the ‘web making me happy this week!
Yacht Rock is back on Sirius XM Radio, and I am HERE. FOR. IT. I hate that it’s only a seasonal channel on my subscription, but it makes me so dang happy when it cycles back – nothing like cruising down the road listening to soft rock from my childhood. Yesssss.
I admit, I’ve never really been a “Swifty” (a Taylor Swift fan) – I bob my head to a few of her songs now and then, but that’s about it. However, after hearing rave reviews of “Folklore“, I gave it a listen, and y’all, I LOVE it. It’s so atmospheric and gentle and cozy, and “Cardigan” has been stuck in my head for days now. It was the album I didn’t know I needed – even if it proves that I wasted my quarantine doing nothing while Taylor made a whole ALBUM…
Speaking of atmospheric, I recently learned that “cottagecore” is a thing, and I’ve gone down the Instagram rabbit hole, finding all these dreamy, romantic images to fill my feed during these hot, muggy, uninspiring days of August. I’m fascinated that this is a thing – this article was super interesting to me (plus, a connect to “Folklore”!)
And finally, though I’m a bit past the annual anniversary, here is a fascinating second-by-second video from Apollo Flight Journal that details every second of the Apollo 11 descent and landing, where you can hear and see everything that happened during those tense minutes. Amazing.
