A few weeks ago, I was looking at my calendar and realized I was going to have a long weekend (due to a work schedule change) that dovetailed when Wes was going to be out of town for a work training. I shuffled a few things, and ended up giving myself a six-day “staycation” (with a couple of days with Wes in the middle of it). To say I was excited to have some downtime and some solo time to just pottering around is an understatement. 😉
I was eager to lean into some self-care and just… taking a beat from life and work for a few days. Yes, Wes and I did chores and some errands one day, and I spent perhaps a little too much time vegging in front of the TV (but I was cross stitching!), but overall, it was… ahhh. Here’s what I did…
I let myself sleep until I woke up, and made sure to moisturize my skin each day…

I got a much-needed pedicure and took my dude for a ramble through the fields…

I organized my studio (an undertaking!) then worked on quilt squares and cross stitch projects…

I nurtured myself with green smoothies, shrimp cocktail (for Wes and I!), and “fancy” at home coffees…

I binge-watched The Wheel of Time (which I’ve been saving for just such a weekend!) on Amazon Prime and Julia on HBOMax…

I read, I repotted plants inside and out (this is Mum’s African violet which I’m guessing is a couple decades old and still gorgeous!), and hung out with my little shadow, Nico (who got a haircut recently).

It was… lovely. But went too fast! Must schedule another long weekend for myself soon…
