…is this mic on? Recording in three, two, one…
I admit it, I’m late to the podcast wave. I mean, as a librarian, I’ve been familiar with the technology trend, knew how it worked, and that it was a great way to inexpensively reach your audience since the start, but…
I’ve never really listened before.
Like the rest of the known universe (though admittedly a little late to the party), I recently got hooked on Serial and the case of Adnan Syed. Because of the high quality, totally engrossing nature of the case, and ease of finding new podcasts, I’m hooked.
But, what does one listen to next?
So far, I’ve downloaded some eps of Star Talk (because Neil DeGrasse Tyson is a rock star), Happier by Gretchen Rubin (I’ve read all her books!), Ask Me Another (NPR + comedy + trivia = awesome!), and some travel and bookish episodes of various podcasts. I find I’m listening to podcasts most while doing chores around the house or garden, or when I’m piecing quilts together. While I still LOVE my audiobooks, those last for 10, 15, sometimes 20 hours. A podcast? Sometimes just 20 minutes – perfect for shorter projects, like washing the dishes.
