Neat and Nifty Things

Here are few fun things making me happy this week!

One of my kinda-impulse quarantine purchases was an Aera For Home diffuser. Aera is a “smart diffuser”, where you can set schedules of how little or how much fragrance (made from essential oils) you want at any given time. Now, they are super spendy, but I reallllly love the scents and how we can amp up the flavor right before we get home so the house smells delicious, and then turn it off at night, only to amp it back up when we are scheduled to wake up. So far, runaway scent favorites are Support Breathe and Vanilla. Yummy! (If you wanna try it and want $50 off, here’s my referral code: https://bit.ly/3lqYqq1)

Home Cooking was originally a four-part podcast from Samin Nosrat (amazing chef and author of Salt Fat Acid Heat and Hrishikesh Hirway (of West Wing Weekly and Song Exploder podcasting fame), but they are adding new episodes and it makes me so HAPPY! It’s all about quaran-cooking with what you have, and they are just so happy and funny and warm and comforting… I could listen to them banter and talk food all day long. Yay!

I’ve never been very good at moisturizing (like, at all), but with cold winters and all the recent hand sanitizer usage, I’ve really been digging the Weleda Skin Food. Now, it’s THICK, but it feels and smells good, and like it’s REALLY working for me, and frankly, gives me something to do during Zoom calls ;-). Dig it!

My darling husband (who, in the interest of full disclosure, is half a decade younger than me) NEVER watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I’m now rectifying this oversight with a massive binge watch, which is making me feel all warm and fuzzy as I rewatch one of my favorite shows from my young adulthood. I’ve noticed during quarantine I’ve been wanting to watch old, familiar favorites (M*A*S*H, Golden Girls, etc) rather than anything new, and Buffy is perfect! We’re most of the way through Season 2 (still my sentimental favorite!), and he’s hooked. Mission accomplished. 🙂

What’s making you happy this week, friends?
