And just like that, it’s March.
The days are getting longer, the sun shining more brightly, Mum’s daffodils that we planted outside my front door after she died have sprung up seemingly overnight (as they do every year), making me smile.
Suddenly, the pandemic seems to be taking more of a backseat in our lives, travel and gatherings feel more possible and less fraught, and though our day-to-day here in the heartland hasn’t changed much since a few weeks ago in dark, dreary February, everything feels fresher, newer, readier for spring than before… and I’m here for it.
I’ve been cross stitching like mad…
I finally started a quilt and am enjoying *not* following a pattern, just letting scraps and colors guide me…
I’ve taken Nico for a few strolls (I amble along, he races back and forth like he’s snorted cocaine, so happy is he to be out and about)…
And I’m here… writing bits and pieces, brainstorming stories and links to share, and wondering if this writing muscle that has been dormant so long is still there… we’ll see!
Here’s to spring!
