As I mentioned a few weeks ago, we’ve been putting on a monthly travel program at my library, and I got to bring our patrons along as we “wandered” to Iceland this month! I made sure to include a few of my own photos from when I got to visit in 2017. 🙂
My presentation was well-received, everyone enjoyed the trivia contest – I told them they were getting fermented shark for a prize, but instead gave away Goldfish crackers 😉 – and got our smörgåsbord set up for us to sample foods from Iceland… hot dogs with the Icelandic fixings, fish jerky, skyr yogurt and a version of Appelsin…

After my presentation and learning about the belief in gnomes and elves in Iceland, we all made our own lavender-filled gnomes! So much fun!

I love figuring out our “tablescape” and decorating theme each month!
Plus, of course, I had Icelandic books at the ready, and everyone got their passports “stamped” with an Iceland sticker!

So much fun! I hope we continue to build attendees, but in the meantime, I’m working on my next country… Morocco! I can’t wait!
