Whew, we made it! Let’s see what I ended May with…

This Book Made Me Think of You by Libby Page was an audiobook listen, and it was just such a SWEET story. Tilly lost her husband six months ago, but he planned a surprise – a year’s worth of books waiting for her at the local bookshop, one for each month. Tilly goes on adventures, meets new people, and maybe a new love. I loved this sweet, warm novel.
Kate & Frida by Kim Fay is an epistolary novel (I love those!) between Kate and Frida – two women in their twenties in the early 1990s. Kate works in a bookshop, Frida working to be a journalist in Paris who strike up a friendship through writing. Lots of 1990s culture, great sounding food, growth for both women (some really rough stuff they go through!), and their enduring friendship. I loved this.
The Fine Art of Lying by Alexandra Andrews was the most recent Reese pick, so I was eager to get into it! This is a suspense novel packed with an affair, a lot of artwork, a twisty murder, and trying to unravel the tale. At times I found this a bit slow, but overall, I was into the artsy, New York shenanigans!
Too Close to Home by Seraphina Nova Glass was an audiobook listen, and was billed as a “explosive, darkly humorous domestic thriller where nothing is what it seems”. I mean, sure… this was a multi-narrator listen, and while I love a good domestic suspense novel, I didn’t find anything humorous, and it strained mightily at credulity, but I was entertained while listening (even though I won’t remember a thing about it in a few days)…
