More May…

Annnnd we’re back with more reviews! Let’s go!

The Shippers by Katherine Center was an automatic download for me, and I couldn’t wait to dive into it – and as always, she did not disappoint! This time we have a cruise ship with a destination wedding aboard, a boyhood friend, relatives galore, a missed kiss, forced proximity, antics, and all the swoony, lovely, funny, laugh out loud moments I come to Center’s books for! I loved every page of this novel!

The Anniversary by Alex Finlay was an audiobook listen, and while it’s been getting rave reviews online, I thought it was a fine suspense novel while listening to it, but probably won’t remember it at all in a few weeks. 😕We have a killer who returns every year on May 1 to a small town, wreaking havoc and fraying nerves, and the story is told over a succession of years. Again, it was entertaining enough, but not memorable for me…

The Wars of the Roses by Dan Jones is definitely a niche topic just for me, but I’ve been down this rabbit hole for a few years now, and see no signs of stopping my fascinating with the Plantagenets, Tudors, Yorks and more. This is another solid read from my fave podcast host and history writer!

The One Day You Were My Husband by Rosie Walsh definitely hooked me with the premise – a literal marriage of only a few hours before surgeon Carrie’s new husband was whisked off a beach in Thailand on serious charges. I like the backwards and forwards timeline and the plot kept me on tenterhooks…but the easy out at the end from the author didn’t stick the landing for me. Enjoyable, but not a favorite.
